My good homie Skelter Parra is kind of a big thing in the art scene and stuff right now, and rightfully so, if I might say so in my biased opinion. Every now and then I wonder what would've become of us if we never got into skateboarding back in the day, but I don't think I really want to know what the answer to that would be. It's fun reading interviews with him because 1) He doesn't do too many interviews 2) When we speak, we talk about random nonsense and then some, but rarely about 'work'. Anthem Magazine caught up with him for a bit of Q&A, which you can read right hurrr.

Skateboarders who came up in the 80's and 90's know about Mark Gonzales and the impact he (and Natas) made in street skating. Mark is a living legend, the Charlie Parker of skateboarding.

Supposedly Amsterdam is a so-called "world city", though in reality it's a real bitch when it comes to finding decent food after midnight! Hooked up with my homie Ewan and showed him around the city for a bit tonight. First time I met him in Tokyo he could tell straight away that I was a skateboarder, even though (in my opinion) I don't really dress like a skater anymore, funny... Ewan's in town for a new publication he's working on, a new magazine reflecting the 21st century Tokyo lifestyle which will hit Japanese newsstands in September. But yeah, we found food at last, and aside from being a hungry and jet lagged guy looking for a late night meal, he's also the ceo of Playford and creative director (alongside Takihiro Okazawa of Cycle : CLS fame) for Levi's FLU, so he's one busy cat. Welcome in Amsterdam!

To commemorate the Beijing 2008 Olympics which jumped off 080808, Nike has launched a grip of temporary retail installations all over the globe yesterday. Each one of these spaces are designed to give consumers a unique experience with the brand and to act as hubs in each respective city, mixing sports and the creative community. The pop-up stores remain open from 30 to 60 days and offer consumers a selection of the brand new Nike Sportswear line, including the superdope Nike x Loopwheeler products. Loopwheeler zipup hooded sweaters and tees are fresh like downy. Wix and Vic in the building tonight. Select personnel: Agra (Nike SB), Pim (Nike) and Björn (Nike SB). Parra and Delta, two of Holland's finest artists today. Parra produced a series of work for the recent Current and AM90 campaigns and Delta's collaborations with brands such as Stüssy, ACU and Clot are hitting stores soon, so be on the lookout for that as well.

Kafka and I fell back at the hotel for a bit. However, we were in such bad need of some food we lowered our standards and walked to the nearby Mcdonald's in pouring rain to get some pre-grub til the other guys came out. Had to grab a sweater from my man too, since I only brought underwear, t-shirts and a laptop... Optimist = Daydreamer more elegantly spelled.
