Happy Chinese New Year!

2011 是個好年，DSSENT 也陪著大家經歷過許多好的活動及趴替～更是推出一連串深受好評的商品，今年我們也會更加努力，大家加油！

今年已經慢慢到了年終，忙碌的時候日子過的特別的快，回首今年，大大小小辦了七個活動！最讓我嚇到的是過半數都是跟音樂有關的，想想過去都是塗鴉、攝影等，DAME! 今年真是音樂當道，尤其是嘻哈當道！

一年一度的 DA REAL SKOOL 嘻哈派對在一星期多前落幕，今年與台灣最屌的音樂網站 GrooveWar 合辦，我想因為大家都是熱愛嘻哈的性情中人，一拍即合，活動策劃不僅順利，大家專業的執行力、高質感的影片宣傳、超屌藝人 Shout Out、LUXY、City Suites、及所有朋友們的大力相挺等等等，才會照成此次的成功，讓所有能參與這次 DA REAL SKOOL 的朋友們能盡情的聽最 REAL 的音樂！

再次感謝 GrooveWar 製作的回顧影片，也算是為活動做個結尾，ENJOY~ 還有 12/2 將是 DSSENT 2011年的最後一個音樂活動，敬請期待十一月的通知～

Muta, Bastard, TB, the hommies from 3 Taiwanese hip hop group, MJ116, Young Souljaz and Yella Boyz, all presented their Rastafari to presents this first collaborated “Reggae Themed” tune, check it out if you like Reggae!

This past week a great film from my motherland Taiwan hit the screens. Seediq Bale, a story of the aboriginals living together with us, that fought for their pride and dignity against the Japanese who once colonized Taiwan. Planned and plotted for 12 years, with a budget close to 24 million USD, all spoken with the native Aboriginal tongue with local amateur actors and actresses, marked a 3.3 million USD in opening weekend, in an island with only 12 million in population.

I am not sure if this film will reach your cinemas, but was truly remarkable, of men’s destiny to regain their pride and dignity. It was a sad incident of a great massacre, but we’ve forgive but not forgot, and mankind must live in unity to celebrate long-live harmony and harvest, and not rise useless confrontations for individual short term greed.

Histories are to be learned

Dssent is a constant supporter to the music industry, just like the saying, “No Music, No Life!” Isn’t that just fuckin’ right!?

Back by popular demands, and starting from this month, the second Wednesday of every month at Taipei decade long legendary bar, ORGANO, we will host the one and only, cutting edge, trend setting, mind blowing absolutely coolest non-commercial shit music night, RE:DEfinition. From DJ Charles and LEO37, we will bring on a 4 hour long set of the chillest and ill-est tunes, from Jazz to Hip Hop, to Soul and Chill Out.

If you are in town, swing by, there are no cover charges. Get yourself a nice good drink and chill for the night, the DSSENT style.

Damn, I have been wanting to update the CexWork blog but I’ve been forgetting, busy, lazy, etc…but that’s no excuse for sure, sorry Yone~

Anyways, our Spring Summer collection just kicked off, delivering to our dealers and have been getting some great feedback, nice! So thanks to all of you. Sticking to the roots of street culture, graffit; our theme is a prequel to what’s more to come in Fall/Winter. But in this collection, we use elements of stencil, tag, character and release some tees, as well as functional short + long sleeve shirts, and our most popular product, the snapbacks.

Thanks to Taiwan beatboxer Eric and Rong to model for the collection (Notice we didn’t use graffiti artists because they were too shy to show their presence in the look book, maybe we will try that in the Fall/Winter collection.

Dssent.com relaunched!
Since, 2005, Dssent.com has been sharing with the world the great things happening in the street cultural scene through its news-site, as well as hosting events for the general public and the likely-minded. The all new Dssent.com not only archived the great things we’ve done, but continuously introduce new cool items from Dssent, new exciting events, or in-depth interviews with great talents and creators, etc. We thank you for your support, and we will continue our mission in nourishing our beloved street culture.

Japanese artits ESOW is gonna have his first solo exhibition in Taipei, so Dssent collborated with ESOW to release this special item, we called it  鏡像（Mirror Image） With ESOW’s artistic touch, the design is a mirror image of two characters, with slightly detailed differences, in expression of although different from culture or language, the continuous bond between Taiwan and Japan stay strong and progressive, like brothers united for the peace and good for this world. ESOW’s tag and specially designed typeface for DSSENT is also printed in the back of the Raglan. This limited item will release on the day of the exhibition, 4/23 at the Base.

In our continuous effort in this exhibition, we were challenged with the shocking news from Japan weeks ago, the devastating earthquake and tsunami. DSSENT has committed that the revenue sold at the day of the event will be donated 100% to the rebuild of our neighboring country.
